Representatives of Free Consumers Union of Azerbaijan raided local cement market to reveal fake cement sales. Trend reports with reference to press service of Garadagh Cement AOOT, the raids revealed fake sales of cement under the name Aradag or Garligag.

Fake cement is mainly sold in old propylene sacks Garadagh Cement and ordinary paper sacks under Garadagh brand. Low-quality production was sold in wholesale shops near town of Gobustan, along Babek Avenue, in Darnagul, Zabrat and Mashtaga, as well as near

subway station Halglar Dostlugu.

Iskandar Sardarli, head of press service, Garadagh Cement, the enterprise, as well as state agencies and public organizations, have fought fake cement sales since 2000.

In 2005, the factory ceased to deliver cement in propylene sacks. To avoid purchase of fake production, one should demand sellers present a quality certificate.

Earlier Uwe Keller, president of Garadagh Cement AOOT, revealed the results of marketing studies showing that amount of fake cement in Azeri market is some 500kt. To withstand production of fake cement, in October the enterprise introduced new sorts of cement, Optimal, Special, Ekspert and Ekspert Plus, packed in paper sacks instead of propylene.
