Antimonopoly Policy Department with Ministry of Economic Development together with State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents has led a monitoring of state flags in sale for compliance to Art. 23 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan. Trend reports with reference to the ministrys release, the Constitution states the flag consisting of three equal stripes. Upper stripe shall be blue, lower green and red in the middle with white octactinal star and crescent.
The monitoring was conducted in small enterprise Hazri, Respect OOO, in stationery shops and trade centers NIL Kitab Kirtasiye. Due to failure to meet aforesaid requirements, 594 flags of all kinds have been withdrawn from circulation.
According to the legislation, owners of these shops have been warned and fined.
