Customs Committee registers over 71,000 cargo customs declarations

In January to May 2006 the Azerbaijani customs bodies have registered 71,292 cargo customs declarations (with appendix list of 95,002). 15,494 of them (with appendix list of 17,506) fell on export, 55,798 (with appendix list of 77,496) - on import. The State Customs Committee (SCC) told Trend, the total number of declarations as compared to the same period of 2005 made up 108.62% or 5,660 declarations, including the declarations on export which amounted to 2,873 (122.76%) and import 2,787 (105.26%).

In this period all transport conveyances delivered cargo worth 10393.8 tons, or 46.7% up as compared to 2005. 5822.5 of the total cargo fell on export, 4571.3 tons on import. The distinguished means of transportation were shipping (3008.1 tons), railway (470.3 tons), automobile (210.4 tons) and pipelines (2126.1 tons).

As a transit country cargo transpiration via Azerbaijan summed up 2661.6 tons. The cargo was mainly transported from Switzerland (797,900 tons ), Italy (696,900 tons), Georgia (458,600 tons), Cyprus (106,000 tons), Tajikistan (119,000 tons), Russia (84,100 tons), Iran (81,200 tons), Turkey (74,600 tons) and Turkmenistan (73,200 tons). Total amount of the transit cargo transported via the territory of Azerbaijan made up 67.50% or dropped 1281,400 tons as compared to 2005.
