Economic Development Ministry Worked out Draft of Protocol of Azeri-Pole Intergovernmental Commission Session

The Ministry of Economic Development has drawn up the draft of the protocol of the first session of Azeri-Pole intergovernmental commission for economic co-operation to take place September 11 to 12 in Warsaw. The Ministry officials told Trend the document was planned to submit to ministries and agencies of the country for approval.

Within the commission it is suggested to discuss Azerbaijans joining WTO and European Neighborhood Policy. Furthermore, it is suggested to discuss Polands purchases of Azeri gas. The session agenda also includes co-operation in tourism, SMB development (business-forums), agro-industrial complexes, chemical and textile industry, construction and shipbuilding.

By the results of the first half-year 2006 Polish goods import to Azerbaijan amounted to $8.796mln and export from Azerbaijan $2.930mln. Import and export operations increased by 3.6 and 5.8 percent over year, respectively. The increase of goods turnover totaled 4.1%.

The governmental delegation headed by Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev is heading to Poland in short. Polish part of the commission heads minister of Economics of Poland Petr Woznjak.
