A Regional Center on Information Technologies, established under the UN Special Program for Economy of Central Asia (SPECA), started functioning in Baku. Mahmud Mammadguliyev, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, told Trend Azerbaijan came out with an initiative on the establishment of a Center in Baku and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies proposed a project.
Project got support by SPECA members and at present work over detailing is underway, the Deputy Minister underscored.
The financing of the project will be carried out by two international organizations UN European Economic Commission and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific Ocean. Besides, there are countries to invest in the project, the Deputy Minister underscored.
SPECA program unites 7 countries (5 Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan).
