Conference Transparency in Extracting Industry and Energy Transit Opened in Tbilisi

The International Conference Transparency in Extracting Industry and Energy Transit has opened in Tbilisi today.

The Fund Open Society Georgia and the Coalition of Public Organizations Public Finances Transparency are organizers of the conference, Trend Special Correspondent to Tbilisi reports.

The Azerbaijani delegation in this two-day conference is presented by Ingilab Ahmadov (Public Finance Monitoring Center), Sabit Baghirov (Center for Economic and Political Research), Gubad bayramov (Economic Research Center), Galib Efendiyev, and Farda Asadov (OSI Foundation Azerbaijan).

Georgia`s non-governmental sector has held a presentation at the conference. The Georgian Deputy Finance Minister presented the following subjects Transparency in Incomes Gaining from Energy Resources Transit, Donors` Co-ordination in Georgia, and Anticorruption Plan of Actions.

Tomorrow non-governmental organizations from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzia will be presented at the conference.

During the interview with Trend Correspondent, Ingilab Ahmadov underlined the importance of the civil sector in the holding of monitoring in transparency in incomes gaining from energy resources production and transit. On one hand, the civil society must control business, on the other hand it must control the state, he thinks.
