Azerbaijan`s Vice-Speaker: Even if We Don`t Discuss Election Code During Autumn`s Session, That Won`t Harm Relations with Venice Commission

The fact that the Election Code will not be included to the discussion during the autumn`s session of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan`s Parliament) will not become a factor which could harm relations between Azerbaijan and the venice Commission of the Council of Europe, Bahar Muradova, Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis told Trend today.

A few days ago, Safa Mirzoyev, Chief of the Milli Majlis Apparatus told that the election Code will not be included to the agenda of the autumn`s session of the parliament. Some political circles warned if this delay will be kept on, tensions can emerge between the official Baku and the Venice Commission.

Mrs. Muradova told that Azerbaijan has always attached great importance to the cooperation with the Council of Europe and its different agencies. The official Baku has always treated all recommendations of the Council of Europe in improving our legislation and bringing it in accordance with the European standards with respect, she told.
