Deloytte Won Bid on Preparation of Fifth EITI Report

Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) reports for the first six months of 2006 will be collated by Deloitte and Touche's Azerbaijan office following the decision of the Selection Group, which was established in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the governmental Committee on EITI, foreign and local extractive industry (oil and gas) companies and the NGOs' Coalition for Increasing Transparency in Extractive Industries to implement EITI in Azerbaijan, Trend reports quoting the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

Five internationally recognized audit companies- Deloitte, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, KPMG and Moore Stephens - operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan were invited to bid.

After appeal of Deloytte to oil and gas company, the last one should submit the report on transfers to the auditor, and Deloytte, within 10 days, should hold the revise of reports of the company and government of Azerbaijan about incomes.

For 2003, 2004 and 2005, the audits were held by Deloytte, and the report for the first half-year of 2005 was prepared by AGN Mak Azerbaijan LTD, which is included in the group of companies Accountants Global Network.
