Manufacturers from Germany, Korea, China and other countries have presented proposals on the delivery of large buses to Azerbaijan. At present the financial estimation of the project is under consideration, Musa Panahov, the First Deputy Transport Minister, informed Trend.
Once the most favorable proposal has been accepted, the first stage is planned to acquire around 200 similar buses and an additional 500 buses.
This is due to the fact that around 800 large buses and 2,000 medium buses are required to ensure normal passenger transportation in the Capital City, Panahov stated.
The work will be done under the Presidential Decree Improvement of Transport System of Baku in 2006-2007'. The purchase of new buses will resolve problems in the City's transport infrastructure, as well as increase the quality of passenger transportation.
