Dealers say Dodge Avenger will arrive in February

(autoinsidernews) - The Chrysler Group will begin production of the all-new Dodge Avenger in January, with the midsize sedan arriving in dealer showroom in February, according to several Dodge dealers, reports Trend

While Chrysler has declined to confirm any production plans for the Avenger, which debuted in concept form at last month's Paris Motor Show, it has said that it will build a new to replacing the Stratus and the new car would be on the market in early 2007.

We haven't announced any plans to build a Dodge Avenger, Chrysler spokesman Dave Elshoff said Tuesday.

The Avenger is part of a push by Chrysler to add more cars into its lineup, which has the most truck-heavy lineup of the Detroit automakers. More than 70 percent of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brand sales are light trucks, which includes pickups, SUVs and minivans.
