(autoinsidernews) - Ford Motor Co. confirmed that Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A, will get the last Ford Taurus off the line when the automaker ends production of its Taurus model on Friday. Cathy has had a long-time relationship with the Atlanta plant that produces the Taurus. He credits the plant's workers for the success of his first restaurant.
A Ford spokeswoman said lots of effort went into making sure Cathy would have the last Taurus. Ford will not sell the last Taurus directly to Cathy, but he'll be allowed to buy it from a dealer, reports Trend.
Cathy has said he will display the Taurus with the other collectible cars at his headquarters in Atlanta.
