(autoinsidernews) - Toyota Motor is planning to build two new assembly plants in North America by the end of the decade, according to the Japanese newspaper Mainichi, reports Trend.
The first plant expected to be built in the northern Midwest is targeted to begin production in 2009, with an annual production capacity of roughly 200,000 units per year. The plant will build the compact Yaris hatch and sedan. The second Toyota plant will begin production in 2010 and would be used to build SUVs and crossovers. There was no word where the second plant will be built, but Toyota is expected to finalize locations of both plants by the end of this year
