State Customs Committee, UNDP Signs Agreement

Aydin Aliyev, the chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, on November 1 said, that the committee will sign an agreement with the UN Development Program (UNDP) on the prolongation of the project on the Establishment of data delivery network and development of institutional opportunities of the State Customs Committee, Trend reports.

Relevant talks are held with UNDP on this issue. At present the fourth phase of the project is nearing to end and there are plans to prolong it through signing a new agreement, Aliyev said.

An agreement on the first phase of the project was signed on January 26, 1999 by the Resident Representative of UNDP, Erjan Murat, and the chairman of the State Customs Committee, Kamaladdin Heydarov.

The general purpose of the project is to increase technical potential and efficiency of the activities of the State Customs Committee through education, establishment of necessary terms and provision of necessary equipment supplies.
