Heydar Babayev, the Azerbaijan Minister for Economic Development has announced in talks with journalists that, as a result of a two-day international investment conference which is currently in progress in Baku, Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) plans to co-ordinate several investment projects, which will be financed without State guarantees.
The IDB takes an interest in the construction sector. It is very important for the country's economy, as the IDB is our strategic partner, the Minister emphasized.
Meanwhile, Ahmet Mohammad Ali, the President of the IDB, stated that Azerbaijan has proposed to carry out the research until financing of these projects. In this respect we plan to establish a regional research center in Azerbaijan, he stated.
The IDB mission is expected to visit Baku to clarify these issues.
