Azerbaijan is expected to attract credit lines on modernization of the electric energy sector, road transport, social and economic development of the regions from international financial institutions and credit organizations in the next year, Trend reports.
Samir Sharifov, Azerbaijan Finance Minister said during the today discussion of the State Budget for the next year in the Milli Majlis (Parliament) that external borrowings will be implemented along with the budget finances into the sectors.
The Foreign Ministry has held a limit of external borrowings against a state security to these spheres as follows: reconstructing the international and regional highways, and bringing the railways of the country in accordance with the international standards, as well as developing the electric power sector 300 mln. AZN; social and economic development of the regions, supplying with drinking water, etc -125 mln. AZN; construction of a plant considered for reprocessing wastes to restore the ecological balance of Baku City 150 mln. AZN; issuing Eurobonds 250-300 mln. AZN.
I would like to bring to the attention of the MPs that it does not mean that in 2007, the domestic and external limit will be implemented in an obligatory and forecasted way. This limit only reflects the limit of borrowings on the obligations to be signed in 2007, said the Minister.
