(autoinsidernews) - Mitsubishi today revealed its all-new 2008 Lancer sedan, which the automaker will unveil at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The 2008 Lancer is scheduled to arrive in Mitsubishi dealerships in early 2007.
The 2008 Lancer is based on the new global platform that also underpins the new Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. The new Lancer rides on a longer wheelbase and has a wider track, but is slightly shorter overall than the previous model, reports Trend.
All 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer models will be powered by an all-new 2.0L 152-hp 4-cylinder engine (143 hp PZEV in Calif.) mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Lancer GTS with a CVT features a 6-step Sportronic mode using magnesium steering wheel paddle shifters.
