Specialists of the Azerbaijan State Railway Company are preparing proposals on increasing tariffs due to the recent increase in prices on energy carriers in the country, a source in the Press-Service of Azerbaijani Railways informed Trend today.
According to the representative of Azerbaijan Railways, this issue is being considered and elaborated by experts of the Railway Company.
After the tariffs on diesel fuel and mazut increased in January, 2006, the Railway Company put forward a proposal on increasing the tariffs. However, the Azerbaijan Tariff Council did not make a decision on the issue.
Due to the recent increase in the domestic prices on energy carriers, Azerbaijani Railways can raise the issue on increasing the tariffs, said the representative of the Railway Company.
At the end of the last week, the Azerbaijan Tariff Council made a decision on introducing new tariffs on energy carriers. According to the decision of the Council, the new price on petrol marked A-95 increased to 60 gapiks, Рђ-92 and Рђ-80 вЂ" 55 gapiks, diesel fuel - 45 gapiks. The cost of 1 KWatt;hour of electric power increased up to 6 gapik.
