New BMW Z9 convertible testing in Munich

(autoinsidernews) - Spy photographers caught a new BMW convertible during testing in Munich. While there was originally some debate whether this is the next-generation Z4 or the forthcoming Z9, this car is now thought to be the Z9 вЂ" BMW's successor to its Z8 and a Mercedes SL-Class competitor. The Z9 is expected to be offered in coupe and convertible models, reports Trend.

If this is the BMW Z9, it will likely be offered with both 400-hp V8 and 500-hp V10 powerplants, and use BMW's dual-clutch transmission. Expect the Z9 to be priced in the neighborhood of $150,000 when it debuts in 2010.
