Crash of 3 Cisterns Do Not Interrupt Railway Transportation between Azerbaijan and Georgia

The Azerbaijan State Railway informed Trend that oil, delivered in the cisterns that derailed in Azerbaijan on 13 January 2007, has been transported from the oil terminal in Sangachal. The incident resulted in the spill of 4-5 tons of oil.

The traffic of trains, however, was not paralyzed after the crash of three cisterns with oil near Govlar station, Tovuz District, on 13 January. It was implemented on one track, the ASR noted.

Daily, 26 trains function in the direction of Azerbaijan-Georgia. The technical fault is believed to cause the crash of three cisterns.

An incident happened on 13 January at 13:20 in the 124th section of the railway of Baku. The train functioning to Georgia consisted of 30 carriages.
