Highest Growth Rates in Industrial Production among CIS Countries in 2006 Registered in Azerbaijan

Comparing with 2005, in 2006, the growth of industrial production in Azerbaijan reached 36,6%. Trend reports quoting the data spread by the CIS Statistics Committee, that comparing with 2005, in 2006, the industrial production in CIS countries increased by 5%.

At the same time, in addition to Azerbaijan, the highest growth rates were observed in the industry of Belarus (11,3%), Kazakhstan (7%), Ukraine (6,2%), Tajikistan (4,9%), Russia (3,9%). The data on Uzbekistan through January, 2006 to September, 2006 is the growth at the rate of 10,2%.

The setback in production of industrial production was registered in Kyrgyzstan вЂ" by 10,2%, Moldova вЂ" by 6,9%, ArmeniaвЂ" 0,9%. No data about Georgia and Turkmenistan over the reporting period are cited.
