GDP Increase in Azerbaijan in January

In January 2007, the Gross Domestic Product of Azerbaijan increased by 46.7% from last year.

According to the State Statistics Committee, as of February 1st, 2007, the GDP index made up 1.7bln manats, with an increase of 524.1mln mantas, Trend reports. The volume of GDP per capita increased by 45%, and made up 195.7 AZN ($224.6) per capita.

The share of production in GDP of the country made up 75.1%, including industry in the amount of 66.7%. In the services sphere the extra cost increased by 19.9% compared to the last year.

Value added price made up 6.3% in construction, 2.1% in agriculture and hunting sector, 23.9% in the transportation sector, 9.3% in the communications sector, 29.4% in the wholesale and retail trade, the car sphere and personal services, 3.4% in restaurant and hotel sphere, 34% in economic units rendering social and other services.

Net taxes from production and import made up 5% of the GDP.
