Azerbaijani Public Budget Fulfilled with Surplus

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / As of March 1, 2007, the factual incomes to the revenue part of the State budget of Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 777.1mln (23.7% of GDP), an increase of 84.9% or AZN 356.9mln as comprised with the figures of last year. The expenditures of the State budget reduced 14% (AZN 56.9mln) and made up 462.7mln manats (14.1% of GDP). The surplus of the budget totaled AZN 314.4 mln (9.6% of GDP).

Some 71.9% (AZN 558.5mln manats) of the revenue part of the State budget have been covered at the expense of the Taxes Ministry by fulfilling the forecasts at 97.2%. Revenues from the customs duties amounted to AZN 108.7mln by implementing the forecasts at 101.5%.

For the reported period, AZN 149.1mln have been received from VAT (19.2% of gross revenues), AZN 311.5 mln (40.1%) - profit tax, AZN 68.8 mln (8.8%) income tax, AZN 35mln (4.5%) - excise tax, AZN 56.1mln (7.2%) - taxes for external-economical activities.

In January to February 2007, AZN 101.3 mln (21.9%) have been spend on social provision and protection of population, AZN 48.2mln (10.4%) - education, 7.9mln manats (1.7%) - on health, AZN 40.7mln (8.8%) - bodies of prosecutor's offices, security, law enforcement bodies and courts, AZN 115.9mln (25%) - investment to the economy of the country, AZN 4.6mln (1%) - housing and communal services, AZN 10.9 mln (2.4%) - agriculture, forest economy and fishing and AZN 96.6mln on industry and construction (20.9%). 40% (AZN 185 mln) have been spent on payment of salaries, pensions and allowances.
