Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / Middle East Petrol, a transport company, is considering the possibility of purchasing extra tanks for oil and oil products for transportation from Azerbaijani terminals to the Georgian ports of Poti, Batumi, and as far as Kulevi, the Vice-President of the company, Tahir Gozal, reported.
According to Gozal, the number of tanks will depend on requirements of large consignor of goods from the Caspian eastern cost. Some 2,000 tanks will allegedly be purchased.
According to the estimates of oil transport experts, Azerbaijani State Railway has 2,500 tanks, Georgian railway has 2,000 tanks, Azertrans has 800 tanks, Middle East Petrol has 500 tanks, and other consignors have 500 tanks.
