Increasing Needs of GUAM Countries in Energy Require More Intensive Cooperation

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / 'The increase of needs in the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) member countries for energy resources requires more intensive cooperation within this sphere.' Stated during the GUAM session held in Baku.

The GUAM member-countries aim at strengthening energy security, the use and development of the pipeline networks and other transport infrastructures of States to increase transition and supply of energy resources, as well as unite their forces on developing and introduction of projects on alternative usage of energy sources.

The countries defined their aims on achieving these tasks including; the development of proposals on the increase of usage and development on existent oil and gas courses and other transport infrastructure, definition of prospect courses delivery of energy resources, discussions of technology and production aspects, creation of program providing energy security of member-countries, intensification of interaction on developing alternative energy resources, ways to decrease dependence of countries from importing energy from the third countries.
