Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / After the completion of an exploration well on the Inam offshore field, the drilling rig Istiglal will return to the gas and condensate field of Shah Deniz to drill the SDX-5 appraisal well, SOCAR said. The well's depth is over 7,000 m.

Earlier the Caspian Drilling Company (SOCAR - 55%, Transocean ink - 45%) proceeded to drill the second side track in the SDX-04 well after the drilling of the first one did not satisfy the geological study. Drilling is implemented from the Istiglal rig.

The depth of the well is 7,350 m. Drilling of the side truck is implemented from a depth of 4,050- 4,100 m. Its length comprises some 2,700m. According to experts' estimations, drilling of the side track will enable them to receive additional data from the field without drilling a new well.

The parties involved in the project on the Shah Deniz are ВР (operator - 25.5%), Statoil (25.5%), SOCAR (10%), LUKAgip (10%), NICO (10%), Total (10%), and TPAO (9%).
