AGSC and Turkish Botas Discuss Change of Azerbaijani Gas Prices

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / The Azerbaijan gas supply company , which is involved in the gas delivery form the Shah Deniz field and operated by Statoil and the Turkish company Botas are in talks on a change of prices of the Shah Deniz gas, Rovnag Abdullayev, the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said on 20 September.

Partners on the Shah Deniz project sell gas to Turkey at $120 per 1,000 cu m.

"The parties are discussing the term of commencement of Azerbaijani gas delivery to Turkey. Reconsideration of gas prices is indicated in the contract which covers the period since the beginning of the first Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Turkey," SOCAR President stressed.

At present approximately 8mln cu m of gas is delivered to Turkey from the Shah Deniz gas field. Azerbaijan received approximately 5mln cu m of gas, 1mln cu m of gas is delivered to Georgia and the small volume of gas is supplied to pump stations via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline as fuel.

After the commissioning of the 4th well, which is scheduled for 15 November, gas production and its delivery will be increased by 6mln cu m.
