Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia / Azerbaijan will not stop supplying its own gas to Georgia, Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri said in Vilnius at an international energy conference on 11 October.

"We will not experience a suspension in gas supply. Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev confirmed that to me personally," Khetaguri said. He confirmed the negotiations on long-term gas supply contracts are underway. "The negotiations are confidential and they have not yet been completed. I can say only one thing - not depending on the result of the negotiations tariffs for gas will not increase," Georgian Minister said.

According to the US Deputy Secretary of State, Matthew Bryza, the negotiations are successful. "As I know the sides have already agreed on gas supplies and they do not have any serious discord on this issue," the American diplomat said.
