Georgia Restores Exchange of Electricity with Azerbaijan

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Georgia restored the import of electricity from Russia and Azerbaijan. Simultaneously, Georgia exports electricity to Azerbaijan, the Commercial operator of Georgian Electricity Network, reports.

Import and export is carried out at different times depending on the demand of the sides. Georgia imports from Russia 1.959mln kW/h of electricity a day, and 17.4mln KW/h a month.

Import from Azerbaijan comprises 0.245mln kW/h a day and 1.8mln kW/h a month.

Georgia does not import or expert electricity from Armenia and Turkey.

Georgia's thermoelectric power stations and hydroelectric power stations produce 25.88mln kW/h a day. Georgia's daily demand is 22.64mln kW/h.
