Azerbaijan, Baku / TrendCapita l corr A. Badalova / Kazakhstan regards the Baku-Tbilisi- Ceyhan pipeline (BTC) as an important and prospective alternative for transport of its hydrocarbon resources, Kazakhstan's charge d'affaires in Azerbaijan Arman Kairbaev said on 14 December.
" Kazakhstan supports multiple policy on transportation of energy resources. For a long time our oil has been transported to different directions, including via Azerbaijan," he said.
The bilateral agreement on oil transportation via BTC has been already signed between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and several technical documents on transportation routes are still to be developed.
Kairbaev voiced his confidence about further development of cooperation between the two countries. During the visit of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Kazakhstan a plenty of agreements were achieved and they will promote enhancement of bilateral relationships. One of the results of the visit is the decision to increase the bilateral cargo turnover to $1bln, he said.
"We are to face complicated work, but I think this purpose is quite achievable," he said.
