Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 April / Trend / In the first quarter of 2008, Azerbaijan produced 11.7mnl tons of oil and condensate, which is 12.4% more than in the same period of 2007, the State Statistical Committee reported.
Major oil volume was produced by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), which extracted 9.6mln tons of oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli bloc of off-shore fields, which is 15.8% more than in the same period in 2007.
The volume of gas production made up 3.9bln cu m, which is 85.3% more than in the same period in 2007. The production of gas by AIOC made up 2.2bln cu m of gas, which is 2.4 times more than in the same period in 2007.
From Jan-March 2008, the electricity production in Azerbaijan comprised 6bln KW/hour, which is 2.4% less than in the same period of 2007.
