Ismayilov/ In October Bail Limani off-shore drilling unit of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan will begin drilling of new development well in Gunashli-19 platform, the Unit said. Construction work which will take a month and half is being carried out in the platform at the moment for drilling purposes.
"Drilling of new well will begin in a month and half following construction work in the platform," the unit said.
The target depth of the well makes up 2,800 meters.
New wells are drilled within new development program for 2008-2010 of 28 May oil and gas extracting unit developing Gunashli offshore field. 28 May oil and gas extracting unit accounts for 60% of oil and 70% of gas extracted by SOCAR.
The program calls for construction of new facilities, increase in the volume of drilling, modernization of oil, transport and pipeline system and capital repairs in the platforms.
Bail Limani off-shore drilling unit plans to drill 19 oil and gas development wells in 2008, 13 of which is expected to become operational in the course of the year. Gunashli field accounts for 9 of 19 wells, Oil Rocks account for 6 and Alat-Daniz for 4 of them.
The Unit plans to drill over 36,000 meters in 2008.
