Trend E.Ismaylov / The expansion of the offshore platform "Guneshli-19" must be completed in January 2009 for beginning drilling a new oil field in shallow water Guneshli, a source said at SOCAR, which independently develops the area. The design depth of the new well will be 2800m.
"The construction works will be continuing for nearly three months," the same source said.
According to the representative of SOCAR, the operation of new oil and gas wells in Guneshli-15 platform will begin soon. The design depth of the well is 4195m.
Both wells will be included in the balance of Oil and Gas Production Unit "28 May".
The new wells are drilled within the new program of the Unit, which develops shallow water Guneshli. SOCAR approved this program for 2008-2010. It envisages stabilizing oil production and increase volumes of gas production.
