Enerdata Forecasts 30% Increase in Global Energy Consumption by 2020.

Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 November / corr Trend A. Badalova / French consulting company Enerdata forecasts 30% increase in the worldwide energy consumption by 2020.

According to the report of Enerdata, 45% of worldwide energy consumption falls on China and India, 3.1 % - Asia and 8% - the USA and Latin America.

According to the forecasts, over the period from 2005 to 2020, gas will cover 31%, coal 25 % and oil 22 % of worldwide energy consumption.

Some 38% of total energy consumption will fall on power engineering, 22% on industry, 16% on communal sector and 15% on transport sector.

According to Enerdata, energy consumption in Europe will grow by 12% in 2009. Some 80% of the increase will fall on gas. The company forecasts 9% decrease in the oil consumption. Five percent of the increase in energy consumption in Europe will fall on the transport sector, 16% - communal sector, 13% - power engineering and 11% - industry. 

Consumption of coal in Europe will be limited making up only 2%. Over the next 14 years, the oil consumption in Europe will fall down by 3%.
