Azerbaijan, Baku, November 28/ Trend / "Since the beginning of the year, SOCAR has drilled 100 new wells in its own fields 85 of which have been put into operation," Rahman Gurbanov, chief of Oil and Gas Department of SOCAR, said. As many as 76 wells were planned to be put into operation during this period.
A total of 11 new wells with high flow rate have been put into operation in the largest offshore field developed by SOCAR since the beginning of the year and two more wells are expected to be drilled and put into operation by the end of 2008, Gurbanov added.
During this period, Complex Drilling Work trust of SOCAR drilled about 167,000 meters against planned 153,000 meters.
In Jan-Oct 2008, SOCAR produced nearly 6.2mln tons of oil and about 6.4bln cm of gas, Gurbanov said.
