The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (Socar) exported roughly 610.5 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia from April to November 2008, Socar reported.
The volume of export amounted to 87.52 million cubic meters in November. Gas deliveries to Georgia commenced in April.
About 1.5 million cubic meters of gas are delivered to Georgia each day. Socar has its own gas produced from numerous fields developed by the company.
Socar delivered 30 million cubic meters of gas to Iran in May 2008. Deliveries are realized via pipelines owned by the Azerigaz Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC). The gas was sold to Iran for $300 per 1,000 cubic meters.
The Gazi-Mahammad-Astara-Bin-Biand pipeline connects Iran and Azerbaijan. The pipeline is 1,474.5- kilometers long, including 295.6 kilometers passing through Azerbaijan.
The pipeline's carrying capacity is 10 billion cubic meters per year. The route is a branch of the Gazakh-Astara-Iran pipeline, which was commissioned in 1971.
