Bakgaz production association, engaged in distribution and supply of gas to Baku, supplies 11.5 million cubic meters of gas per day to the Baku gas system, the office said on Feb. 2.
"Gas is supplied to the system in normal mode. Roughly 11.5 million cubic meters are supplied per day," the office said.
In 2008, over 2.45 billion cubic meters were transferred to the Baku gas system. Over 334.4 million cubic meters were transferred in December 2008.
In 2008, Bakgaz ended the seasonal gas-supply system. The amount of gas
supplied now depends on consumer demand.
The seasonal system was implemented in the past because most homes lacked meters and used gas irrationally.
Today, meters have
been installed in all homes throughout Baku.
In previous years, Bakgaz switched to the summer mode in mid-April, reducing
supplies.
From Nov. 15, Bakgaz switched to the winter mode.
During the summer mode, daily gas supplies totaled 3-4 million cubic meters.
Gas supplies were 10-13 million cubic meters during the winter mode.
