Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 3 / Trend /

Kiev will host the 3rd Forum Europe-Ukraine, organized by Instytut Wschodni (Poland) and the Foundation United World (USA), on Feb. 25-27. Trend will render informational support to the forum.

EU-Ukraine partnership and cooperation agreement expired in March 2008. Taking into account the steady development of relations between the parties in recent years, Ukrainian and European politicians have concluded that there is no sense to extend the old agreement on partnership and cooperation.

Owing to the openness of both parties and the deepening cooperation, the new agreement is expected to become a roadmap for changes within Ukraine to enable the country to gradually integrate into the European Union. Nevertheless, the prospects for cooperation between the EU and Ukraine are still uncertain.

Annual Europe-Ukraine Forum serves as a platform for the prominent politicians, leading businessmen, experts and journalists to exchange opinions on the future of Ukraine-Europe relations.

On Feb. 25, presentation "Ukraine 2008. Report on Transformation" will be held with panel discussion "Fighting the Corruption: Achievements and Challenges".

On Feb. 26, plenary session "Ukraine and European Union: Next Step towards the United Europe?" will take place with following panel discussions:

• EU Association Agreement for Ukraine: A Breakthrough or Substitute?
• Economic Crisis. New challenges for EU countries and Ukraine
• Panel discussion: Free Movement of People in Europe: Ukrainian Dream or Near Future?
• Regional Security Problems: Is Any Common Approach Possible?
• Energy Security in CEE Region and European Energy Policy.
• Foreign Direct Investments in CEE: Impact of the Global Financial Crisis
• Eastern Partnership Initiative: Value Added or Just a Decor Change?

On Feb. 27, a plenary session "EU-Ukraine Economic Cooperation: How Many Obstacles to be Overcome?" will take place with following panel discussions:

• Civil Society - Foundations of Democracy
• Regional Security Problems: Is Any Common Approach Possible?
• Historical Memory: Interpretations and Misinterpretations
• Foreign Direct Investments in Ukraine: Impact of the Global Financial Crisis

About 400 people are expected to be in attendance.
