Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 16 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/
Special Emergency Situations Ministry commissions were formed in Baku districts to investigate gas-use violations, Industrial and Energy Ministry State Gas Supervision Department head Asif Zeynalov said on Feb. 16.
Recently, citizens have resorted to using homemade gas stoves that do not meet technical norms due to the unusually cold winter. An upswing in carbon-monoxide poisoning cases and explosions has resulted. Roughly 30 people have died this year in Baku and nearly 200 have suffered from carbon-monoxide poisoning.
"Commissions have been formed in every district and examinations are underway," Zeynalov said.
The commission will conduct activities over two months and submit a report to the government, he said.
The commissions were formed after the Cabinet of Ministers met to discuss safe gas use in January.
