Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Feb. 26 / Trend , T. Zhukov/

Lukoil invested $67 million to develop the Southwestern Gissar oil fields in 2008.

The company performed seismological surveys covering a 14-square-kilometer area, the Lukoil Uzbekistan Office in Tashkent told Trend .

The Iranian OEOC geophysics company also performed seismological surveys by contract.

The number of operating wells in South Kizilbayrak and Khoshkuduk fields doubled to 6 wells.

The total daily flow also increased to 65 tons.

The wells are drilled by the Chinese Tuha company at a block speed over 1,000 meters per month.

The average well-drilling cycle is 3-3.5 months.

A second drilling contractor, Czech Eriel, is drilling three wells, which will launch in mid-2009.

Oil extraction and treatment systems are currently being overhauled.

Transmission facilities are being built with a capacity of 10 kilowatts.

In March 2008, Lukoil Overseas signed a contract with Soyuzneftgaz to acquire 100 percent of SNG Holdings.

Soyuzneftgaz East, which is party to the partner sharing agreement on the Southwestern Gissar, is part of the holding. The value of the contract is $580 million. Uzbekneftgaz is a second party to the contract.

The Southwestern Gissar territory composes 7 fields, including Jarkuduk-Yangi, Gumbulak, Amanata, Pachkamara and Adamtash and South Kizilbayrak and Khoshkuduk.

The Southwestern Gissar group has reserves of about 100 billion cubic meters of gas and 6 million tons of oil and gas condensate, the State Geology Commission said. Around 3 billions cubic meters of gas and over 300,000 ton of oil and gas condensate are estimated to be produced from the field per year by late 2012.
