Over 650,000 barrels of oil pumped via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline

The daily oil pumping via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline is 650,000 barrel. Roughly 100,000 barrels of oil is pumping via the Baku-Supsa pipe, the Azerbaijan Oil Industry said.

The oil exported via the pipelines is produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field. The average daily oil production from the field is about 750,000 barrels.

Construction of the pipeline was estimated at 4 billion dollar and was commenced in April 2003 and it was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.

The sides to the production sharing agreement on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields are BP (operator- 34.14%), ChevronTexaco (10.2%), SOCAR (10%), INPEX (10%), Statoil Hydro (8.56%), ExxonMobil (8.01%), TPAO (6.75%), Devon (5.63%), Itochu (3.92%) and Delta Hess (2.72%). Required investments total $20 billion.

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) is the operator of Baku-Supsa pipeline.
