Azerbaijan, Baku, March 2 / Trend / In 2008, the United States imported over 26.8 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan compared with 20.6 million in 2007, the U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported.
In 2006 the USA imported 9.7 million barrels of oil, EIA reported.
The main export route transporting Azerbaijani oil is Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline which delivers oil to the Turkish Port of Ceyhan.
Azerbaijani light oil is also exported from Georgian Port of Supsa, where the oil is delivered via Baku-Supsa pipeline.
The oil is also exported from Georgian Black Sea Port of Batumi, where oil is transported via railway from Baku and from the Port of Novorossiysk, receiving oil through Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
