Kazakh oil transport via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline is impossible for the time being, State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev said.

"The Baku-Supsa pipeline is used to transport Azerbaijani oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) fields. Replacing the oil is a difficult problem and will eventuallybe solved," Abdullayev said.

Kazakhstan is interested in transporting oil via the Baku-Supsa pipeline, Kazakh Ambassador in Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov said on March 19. The route will enable Kazakhstan to transport oil to the Supsa Port on the Black Sea of Georgia.

"Kazakhstan is already prepared to transport the oil," Primbetov said.

About 100,000 barrels of Azeri Light produced at ACG are transported to Supsa via the BP-operated route.
