Management of Kazakhstan's giant field offered to natural resource users, working in the region, to transfer $1 for each tons of the sold oil to social projects, Mangistau Region Administration Advisor Evgeniy Kim said on April 28.
"The administration offered to transfer $1 for each tone to social projects," Kim said during his speech at the APEC-2009 (Astana Petroleum Exhibition & Conference) meeting in Astana.
Kim said at present roughly 43 companies - natural resource users in the Mangistau region and 23 of which produce oil and 20 are at the stage of exploration.
"Those who are still conducting exploration, is offered a certain percent of the investment, which is designated for exploration," the advisor said.
According to his data, so far, only three companies have agreed to accept such a proposal.
