Azerbaijan, Baku, May 21 / Trend / Azerbaijan will build an underground gas holder in Georgia under an agreement reached during talks held by Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili in Baku, AzerTaj state news agency quoted Georgia president as saying at a meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.
The Georgian president said construction of a new gas holder will enable to supply Georgia with gas for many years.
Georgian government has made a principal decision to build gas holder in the country. The gas holder is expected to be built in Ninotsminda where Georgian gas is extracted.
According to preliminary reports, design work will complete in nine months. The construction will take two years.
The volume of investments in gas holder construction and source of finance have not been determined yet. The gas holder will have capacity of 400 million cubic meters of gas and it will supply the country with gas for two months.
U.S. Fund of Millennium Challenges intends to co-finance the project.
