Oil pumping from Kazakh field Tengiz via Georgian Black sea terminal Kulevi of SOCAR Company (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) can be launched in August 2009, Tengizchevroil joint venture marketing and transportation department commercial manager Doug Schoen told Trend on June 2.

"Delivery can be launched in August if dredging operations complete in Kulevi," Schoen said.

Volume of oil pumping from Tengiz to Azerbaijan via railroad will increase 200,000 tons per month within the next months, he said.

Volume of transported oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will hit 5,000 tons per day.

Oil terminal was put into operation in Kulevi on May 16, 2008.

Summary capacity of terminal pumping hits 10 million tons of oil oil-loading freights per year, including 3 million tons of oil, 3 million tons of diesel oil, 4 million tons of black oil. It can receive 168 tank-trucks. Total volume of tank farm hits 320,000 cubic meters. Capacity of terminal is planned to increase 15-20 million tons within two years.

Presently, Tengizchevroil transports its oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline in the Mediterranean Sea to Turkey and via railroad in Georgian Black sea port Batumi.
