Negotiations on Trans-Caspian project resumed in Astana

JSC NC KazMunayGas (KMG) discussed the further development of Kazakhstan's Caspian oil transportation system (CCST) today, a source in the company told Trend in Astana.

"KMG management met with representatives of interested companies and participants of the project to resume works over the Kazakhstan-Caspian Transportation System (KCTS) or Trans-Caspian project," the source said.

The KCTS is built for future Kashagan oil to be delivered via pipelines to Baku, and from there to world markets either via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline or the Baku-Supsa pipeline.

"We also have Tengiz. We have already faced the issue on transportation of Tengiz oil from Kashagan to market. We are faced the issue to intensify work on the CCST project," the source said.
