Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Monday that Ukraine's Naftogaz has paid for May gas supplies in full, news agencies reported.
"(Ukraine's) Naftogaz has paid for May gas shipments in full," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted Gazprom's press office as saying, Xinhua reported.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko pledged on Friday full payment of the gas supplies, when Russia was increasingly concerned about whether his country was able to meet the June 7 payment deadline, and warned of a possible halt in gas supplies to Europe via Ukraine.
