The interest of NATO to energy security has intensified because of the evolving international situation, Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said at an "Energy security: challenges and new opportunities" workshop in the framework of NATO week in Azerbaijan.
"Energy security is of great interest for all, including NATO countries that are major purchasers of energy in Europe. Some of them play transit role, while others are involved in the process of petroleum products," Azimov said.
The best definition of energy security is the ability to ensure countries own energy consumers with necessary energy in the required quality and timely.
