U.S. forecasts cut in world oil demand by 2 percent

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) says the world oil demand will fall 1.75 million barrels per day and total 83.68million in 2009.

"A level of world oil demand cut will drop in late 2009," the EIA June report says. "After a 1.8-million bpd reduction this year, demand will increase by 0.7 million barrels and amount to 84.41 million barrels per day in 2010 as a response to the expected positive economic growth.

The EIA June report says the oil demand in the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD) countries will total 45.39 with a 1.94-million decrease from 2008.

The oil demand in non-OECD countries will make up 38.28 million barrels per day which is by 0.17 barrels lower compared to 2008.

Some 45.26 million barrels per day will fall to the OECD countries and 39.14 million - to non-OECD countries in 2010.

The EIA forecasts world oil deliveries will decrease 1.99 million barrels per day and total 83.5 million in 2009. World oil deliveries will increase 1 million barrels per day and total 84.5 million in 2010. 

The OECD- countries will supply 20.71 million barrels per day in 2009 and non-OECD countries - 62.79 million. Volume of the OECD-countries' oil supply will drop to 20.31 million barrels per day, while non-OECD countries' supply will increase to 64.19 million.
