Over 90 percent of work in Georgia's second phase of North-South gas pipeline rehabilitation fulfilled

Roughly 90 percent of work of the second phase of North-South gas pipeline rehabilitation in Rustavi and Gardabani, Georgia's Oil and Gas Corporation said. 

Old pipe was dismantled in corrosive section in Gardabani. But operations are held at precluded pipes of BP Company in Rustavi.

Roughly 90 percent of operations were fulfilled to change cranes in nine sections. Presently, operstions are held to restore relief around cranes.

Most part of bank protection operations was fulfilled in the Aragvi River. Operations were fully completed in junction of Dushetiskhevi, Gldanula and Tskhvedieti rivers. Construction operations are held within the second phase of North-South gas pipeline rehabilitation, project of energy infrastructure rehabilitation of millennium fund.   

Joint Georgia's enterprise New Energy Tbilisi Gruzgydro won in the international tender conducts operations. The contract is worth 8.7 million lari. Operations were launched in autumn 2008 and complete this summer. It is the first case when Georgia's companies conduct large-scale operations in mainline gas pipeline.
